A truly international race: Rujano and Arashiro to contest the race
International top-class teams are making official their line-up. Astana's Vinokourov and Iglinsky will join forces
From 3/12/10
With a little more than a month to the start of the 34th Giro del Trentino (April 20-23), international top teams are making official their line-up through these days.
Team Astana will contest the Giro del Trentino with a strong squad including Alexander Vinokourov and Maxim Iglinsky, who recently won the “Strade Bianche – Eroica” one-day race in Tuscany. Also Italian Ivan Basso from Liquigas will be on the starting line to repeat last year’s overall victory.
Following his impressive win in the Tour de Langkawi, Venezuela’s Josè Rujano will be one of the fearsome competitors in Trentino. ISD’s climber – who finished third overall in the 2005 Giro d’Italia – looked on the path back to a very good shape. He will have the opportunity to show his climbing abilities up to the Dolomites mountains.
Miche's Przemyslaw Niemec, who took a solo win in Pampeago in 2009, and team mate Michael Rasmussen will join forces to go on the attack in the Italian four-day stage-race.
French team BBox Bouygues Telecom will feature Japan’s Yukiya Arashiro as the Giro del Trentino confirms its international appeal.
More international teams from USA, Germany, Austria, Poland and Russia to be announced in the next few days.
