Stage2 departure in Mori to celebrate Alessandro Bertolini’s farewell

Giro del Trentino’s stage moving from Mori (Androni’s rider home town) shall cross the Mocheny Valley leading the riders to Sant'Orsola Terme

 The 36th Giro del Trentino (April 17th-20th) will dedicate stage2 departure to a small and very active sport town and acknowledge a significant local rider, Alessandro Bertolini, whose career is next to conclusion.

Renowned for its nice velodrome, where 2010 track  Italian Championships took place, Mori is Alessandro Bertolini’s home town where he’s actually living too. Looking forward to sign a new agreement with Gianni Savio, Androni Giocattoli manager, 40-year-old Trentino’s rider focuses the National Road Championships in June as his farewell day, but wishing to enjoy the tribute of his fellow countrymen and possibly celebrate it with the best possible performance at Giro del Trentino.

Giro del Trentino’s stage2 moving from Mori shall cross the Mocheny Valley leading the riders to Sant'Orsola Terme. Both starting and finish locations have never hosted the race organized by GS Alto Garda till now.

"I'm really satisfied with Giro del Trentino's stage departure in Mori. It's the icing on the cake for me, but even rewarding my town that always aimed to incentive sport and particularly cycling. I feel very honoured to represent it", said Bertolini, professional rider since 1993, dressing the colours of  relevant teams such as Carrera-Tassoni, Brescialat, MG Maglificio, Cofidis, Mobilvetta  Design, Alessio, Domina Vacanze, Selle Italia, Diquigiovanni and Androni Giocattoli-CIPI.

"2012 Giro del Trentino's is expected to be a vibrant race, as from the TTT - a good test for the teams on the road to Giro d'Italia - up to Punta Veleno and Pordoi top-finish. Year by year the organizers go on picking the fruits of their pretty good job. I'll try to do my best, I really care about it" 2010 Italian Champion on track (Derny race) argued.

36th Giro del Trentino programme is now complete. The race will start on April 17th with the 15,5-km TTT from Riva del Garda to Arco di Trento. Two days later the riders will go up to the 1156m of Punta Veleno (the "poisonous sting", a 10-km climb with a gradient constantly over 14%, peaking at 18%) and on April 20th to the 2242m of Passo Pordoi, with its final 13-km uphill, the 2012 edition’s rendering of accounts.
