Count down begins to the 34th Giro del Trentino Riva del Garda time-trial to start “on the water”

Springtime cycling season is just around the corner and the Giro del Trentino is ready to steal the show in the International scenario, from April 20 to 23.
GS Alto Garda-Arco's organizers have recently confirmed the course of Stage 1 on Tuesday April 20, a highly-spectacular 12,5km individual time-trial from Riva del Garda to Torbole sul Garda with the intermediate time check in Arco.
The main feature of the Giro del Trentino’s first stage is the starting location in the Fraglia della Vela, on Lake Garda’s bay. The new solution will give the opening stage a special appeal as the rider will get off to an unusual start from the water, in a gorgeous panorama.
In spite of a pretty short and smooth course, the riders will have to tackle the “Ora del Garda”, a strong wind that could make the race harder and influence the final classification.
Time-trial specialists Ivan Basso and Alexander Vinokourov confirmed their presence at the Giro del Trentino as many other top-class riders are expected to contest the Italian stage race. The names of the 20 teams will be released in the upcoming days.
The Giro del Trentino 34th edition will be officially launched with a press conference in Trento, on Monday April 12.
