Giro del Trentino organizers and G.S. Alto Garda - Arco are in shock after Franco Ballerini’s death. The head coach of the Italian national cycling professional team has been involved in a terrible car crash during a rally race in Tuscany while he was competing as navigator, on Sunday February 7.
Ballerini used to follow the entire Giro del Trentino as the Italian short stage-race always showed him important indications thanks to the demanding courses. All those who have been in touch with Ballerini keep a nice memory of his presence in Trentino. His kindness and professionalism conquered the heart of the race organizers, riders and public.
Cycling and Giro del Trentino have lost a great personality but he will always stay in our heart. Ciao Franco!
